We took a big leap at the end of last year, running our biggest ever fundraising appeal with our supporters as part of the Big Give Christmas Challenge 2021 – and we just found out we won an award for it!
We were overwhelmed by the way our supporters and friends stepped up to help, and we smashed our £19,000 target raising £19,831 plus over £2,000 in Gift Aid. We cannot overstate how grateful we are for this – for the first time ever, we were able to launch a brand new project for which our supporters were the main funders, which is truly phenomenal.
We’ve now begun this project which will work with Women Changemakers in Sierra Leone to earn a living with backyard vegetable gardening and soap-making businesses.
Being able to work with more people to overcome poverty is all that we could ask or hope for, so it was a wonderful surprise to find out that we won The Big Give’s Award for the Best International Charity!
