About MUWODA
MULOMA Women’s Development Association (MUWODA) was formed by a group of displaced women in Kenema in 1996, during which time the country was undergoing a destructive and violent civil war.
The organisation initially aimed to respond to the needs of women, children and girls living in displacement camps. Now, MUWODA focuses on the socio-economic development of rural women and youth through increased food production programmes, micro-credit schemes, peace building, vocational skills training for youths and the protection of children in difficult circumstances.
MUWODA and Action on Poverty work in partnership in Sierra Leone, delivering effective, solutions-focused change to some of the most marginalised people. Read more about our Power Against Poverty project here.
