I am thrilled to share with you all the work that, together with our local partners across Sierra Leone, Kenya and Uganda and with your support, we have achieved in 2025. Going through the project reports this year has been a powerful experience. I found myself deeply moved by the stories of people whose lives feel both far away and very close at the same time. Even from here in the UK, I can relate to the women who are still finding their voice at home, and I feel inspired by the young people who are discovering their strengths and shaping their own futures.
Families have grown more food, earned steadier incomes and rebuilt their livelihoods after drought, displacement and rising living costs. Women traders in northern Kenya are running camel‑milk hubs that keep food on the table during long dry seasons. Refugee farmers in Uganda are growing climate‑resilient vegetables and building fuel‑efficient stoves that make homes safer and reduce pressure on the environment. In Sierra Leone, young women are leading new WASH enterprises and helping their communities access safe water, sanitation and digital finance.
Behind every number in this review is a person with a story: a mother who can now feed her children, a young person gaining skills for dignified work, a community protecting its land and coastline. These are the changes that last, and they are only possible because of the solidarity and support we receive.
