We are appalled, enraged and deeply saddened by the unjust and brutal murder of Black lives at the hands of people in positions of power. Action on Poverty stands against racism in all its forms and we are in solidarity with all Black people.
In all areas of our work, Action on Poverty strives for equal opportunities for all, regardless of race, gender, ethnicity, religion, disability, age or sexual orientation, and we are proud of our contribution to this. But this is not enough. We must all do more to tackle the systemic barriers in all areas of society which perpetuate discrimination and injustice.
We are committed to pushing boundaries in all areas of our work to fight against racism, poverty and injustice. We recognise that we have a responsibility to do better and will actively seek to listen, learn and challenge to create a future of true equality.
Everyone has the right to live free from discrimination.
